Ich Seh Ich Seh Movie Poster

Image
Here is my finalised Poster for the movie, I have the text adorn the head and wrap itself around, whilst the following line of text ran through the water and in line with the houses shadow. The font style I went for I would say was successful in its job of looking similar in quality to Saul Bass movie poster font. I really like the split parallel between the two characters and the minor but not intense shading on them gives them a nice quality which isn't too overpowering. If I could change something about the image it would be to add a pale outer box to frame the image and give it a much more poster like feel, as I have done with previous posters. Here is the version of the poster without the texturised front layer applied, I really like the flatness of this image, it has a certain quality that the original doesn't retain.

Goodnight Mommy Movie Poster Sketches

Image
Here are a few sketches and ideas, for a poster of Goodnight Mommy a Austrian horror movie about a other who is fully bandaged all around her face and her sons who don't believe that lady is their mother. I tried to use the most striking imagery throughout the film in my poster, first is obviously the bandaged mum, second is the boys mask, that he creates which is absolutely horrifying and finally is the house they leave in which is extremely modern and in he middle of nowhere in the Austrian country side. This was the first sketch of just a rough face split between the two characters. I thought of perhaps a horizantal poster with the english name of the film on one side and the german name for the film 'ICH SEH ICH SEH' on the other side parallel to the characters. The text style for ich seh ich seh is very similar to Saul bass' paper cut style font, so I decided to use this element in my final poster. Here are a few rough thumb nails, of ideas and shots for the po...

Finished Vector Owl

Image
Finished Vector Owl After a lot of experimentation and testing out illustrators many tools, I finally finished a Vector Animal. I added some text at the bottom of the screen to adorn the poster and give it a finished look. I really like the colour scheme of reds and beiges as it really gives the poster a certain atmosphere. This is definitely something I want to do more of and perhaps I will work on adding texture the image in the same manner Oscar Diodoro does.

Vector Animal Sketch Book Pages

Animal Shapes After downloading and installing Adobe Illustrator, I ran through some tutorials and noticed it recommended me artists that create animal images purely out of shapes and vectors. Oscar Diodoros' style has a unique native feel to it and uses the colour of the shapes excellently

Polish School of Poster Design

Image
Polish School Of Poster Design The polish school of poster design is an establishment that produced incredible posters that started in the 50s throughout the 80s. The posters were created against the grain of every uniform film poster that was being made in that time, these artists put their own spin into their posters and usually had more political commentary to them which created a cult following of the posters at the time. It sparked a revolution in graphics and poster design that completely changed the way the poster was viewed. .

Saul Bass Posters

Image
Saul Bass Posters Saul Bass was an American graphic designer most well known for his famous movie posters for huge directors such as Stanley Kubrick and Alfred Hitchcock. His first famous movie poster was the man with the golden arm, his style and all of his text that he produces has a nice paper cut quality to it, all of the letters have the same style but don't conform in a uniform pose as most text does. The Shining poster Bass produced really imbued a sense uncomfortableness within the title, the face in the 'T' is extremely offsetting and the features of the eyes and face unsettles and element of fear within the viewer. The text again is in line with Sauls famous text style.
